Here is a round up of reported cases of arrests and violence for today released by the MDC information department.

Please note that most of those who were arrested yesterday are still in police custody these include, MP's Tendai Biti, Silas Mangono, Milton Gwetu, Mayor of Bulawayo, Japhet Ndabeni Ncube, National Executive members Jobert Mudzumwe and Gertrude Mutombeni.

What is worrying however are the unreported cases of scores of people being picked up in their homes, on the streets and any other public places.

1. Zanu PF youths camp at Headquarters

About 2 500 Zanu PF supporters are staying at the Zanu PF Headquarters where they are operating from.
The police are fully aware of this.
These supporters have been moving in Harare harassing people in the streets and some of the supporters are tearing The Daily News.These supporters have been planted on intersections in the city. It seems they are working together with the police.
Most of the Zanu Pf supporters were bussed from the rural areas.

Business is still on halt in all major cities.

2. MDC Mutare leaders arrested

The MDC Provincial Chairman for Manicaland, Mr. Timothy Mabawu, MDC activists Knowledge Nyamoka and 44 other MDC supporters whose names could not be established at the time of preparing this newflash have been arrested at the police and army continue in their futile efforts to crush the people's expression through the mass action.

3. Masvingo leaders denied food

We have just received the report that the MDC members who were arrested in Masvingo yesterday, who include the member of parliament for Masvingo Central, Silas Mangono, are being denied food while being detained. 4.Gweru 35 arrested

In Gweru, 35 people were arrested. The lawyers for the MDC Mr Chitere and MR Chidawanyika have reported back that the list of those arrested includes the Midlands South Province security Dep't official Kudakwashe Mutara who has since disappeared in police custody. Arresting Gweru police deny having picked
him up. Kudakwashe Mutara was arrested with all the other mdc people who have stuck to their story that they were arrested together on the same day.
The denial by the arresting officers that they never arrested them is a source of deep concern for his family, his friends, the lawyers, for MDC and for the nation.

5. Kwekwe 15 arrested

In Kwekwe, 15 people were arrested yesterday. These include Willard Somerai, a member of the youth national executive, Absalom Machiso, an MDC youth organiser.

Still in Kwekwe, today Police Chief Superintendent Masuka, the officer commanding Kwekwe, has been leading the police and Zanu PF youths in evicting and harrassing MDC supporters. Shadrick Tobaiwa, Edmore Marongwe and Anna Charuka have been evicted from their homes for supporting the MDC. Masuka has declared that all MDC supporters will be removed from Kwekwe. Some shops have been forced to open, and ZANU PF militia is running about beating up people suspected to be MDC

6. MDC Secretary for Defense under siege

We have just spoken to Hon. Giles Mutsekwa, who said he was taking a bath when the police beseiged his house. He took his time in the bathroom, and the police left and left word that he should report to the police station.

7. Harare School children teargassed

Police have fired tear gass at Warren Park Primary School in Harare. Choked children are reportedly running all over the place in the resultant chaos. We have not heard reports of injuries, but we will connunicate this as and when we get adequate information.
