Hunger Strike for Morgan
Braving cold weather, a group of Zimbabweans have begun staging a hungerstrike outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria, close to Mbeki's office. They are demanding the immediate release from detention of Morgan Tsvangirai, the MDC leader.
Today, 38 people including women and children, remain and the group leader has vowed to continue the strike until the objective is met.
Yesterday a representative of Presidents Mbeki's received a petition from
the demonstrators but he failed to convince the group to move away despite citing that things were happening behind the scenes to solve the Zimbabwean crisis.
